Once you do something like script change, the time zone gets reset to default value. Imagine your forum showing US time in posts when you are in America. You will look real funny with that kind of settings in place. A good theme, good content and other features etc won't help you get out of this ill feeling. Why get yourself trouble when you can do this very easily ? Spend some 2 minutes and you are ready to go. All you need is access to admin control panel.

Take " Admin ", it will ask you for password > Input password > Go to " configuration " (it will be in the drop down menu or the LHS menu as you have made settings) > Take " Features and options " > You will see a box with heading " General " > The fourth sub division (options 11, 13 and 14) are dedicated to time settings

With the first option, you can set the time format. Now to change the forum time zone, you have two options.

1. Set an " Over all time offset "

In this method, we leave the server time zone as it is and add an offset value for time. It is quick and saves the trouble of changing the overall time zone. It also helps if you are confused about the time zone and need to simply offset the time.

2. Server time zone

Very straight. Simply select the time zone you want from the drop down menu. Since I am from India, I have selected Asia / Calcutta as it resembles the +5.30 time zone and is same all over India.
